edit: i have uploaded the (larger) ayala rally pictures to my flickr account, by the way. you can view them here (under the manila folder).
ok, so she cheated (and i'm not talking about your girlfriend). however, before we condemn her as the anti-christ incarnate, i'd like to ask these questions first: who exactly can we replace her with that is honest and competent (if ever such person exists in the government)? who exactly resembles a remotely viable option for presidency should she relinquish her power, be it by force or her own accord?
yeah, i thought so. no one.
don't even say noli. don't even think about saying susan hind-ko-tinatanggap-ang-sorry-mo roces. please, now. i was dead-drunk last weekend and i still feel the lingering effects of the hangover five days later. i might hurl a chair at you. so please...

no, i don't advocate gma's resignation or impeachment (as much as i loathe hearing her voice on tv). not when we have kabayan as the successor. or mrs poe as the next cory aquino should there be a snap election (god forbid). and who says susan roces is not interested in politics? yeah, and pigs could fly.
she's no mother teresa but she's the best option that we have, garci or no garci.
so there you go...pick your poison.

however, as much as i'm willing to give gma's election fiasco a pass, i won't be as quick to dismiss the jueteng allegations of her kin. who the hell makes the "sacrifice" (if that's what they call it) of leaving the country when they're under scrutiny for jueteng involvement? that's called "running like a fugitive". sacrifice my ass.
anyway, i was in yesterday's ayala rally as suggested by the pictures. no, i wasn't there to shout gloria, gloria ibaba. i was there since i felt it's an event that needs documentation. i was too young to remember edsa 1, so i wasn't going to let this pass. with that said...

seeing the rally from a far, the words democracy, people power, brotherhood, unity and like comes to mind. but wait till you get there. more than half of the people are drunkards in torn clothes, bums, angsty teens looking for a riot, students cutting class, politicians with ulterior motives, and lower class individuals hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrities. politics to me seemed like the least of their cares. which makes me believe all the more that most are "paid rallyists".

getting there was a major pain, since all of ayala from makati avenue till way past paseo de roxas was full. i've never seen seen a bigger multitude in my life. shredded papers were also falling like snow from the high-rise buildings.
oh well. some people just think politics can be changed like flipping channels.
